How do business decision makers view social media?
By: John Papworth, Media Operations Manager, cpaMarket
The future of user generated content looks bright according to a recent survey.
As U.S. Online Advertising Spending continues to increase through the next 10 years,
eMarketer benchmarks a 28.5% increase in 2008 from last year at approximately $21.4
billion to $27.5 billion.
This increase includes new social media. According to BtoB, January 14, 2008 issue,
the spending will be driven primarily by paid search engine advertising, but marketers
will also spend more on newer ad platforms, including social networks.
They conclude that one reason why social networks have become so big is because
businesses are looking for more interaction and advice from peers, and they are
turning to the Web for that.
